Toddler Kahleb Rowan Collins discovered missing after 3 months when dad and sister killed in crash as grandpa arrested

After a deadly collision that claimed the lives of their father and sister, the grandpa of a youngster who went missing three months ago has been taken into custody.

In connection with his grandson Khaleb Rowan Collins’ disappearance, John Elton Bailey has been charged with failing to report amissingchild.

Three days after his two-year-old granddaughter and her father, Steven Collins, were killed in a car accident, Bailey was arrested on December 11.

His daughter, Wendy Bailey, suffered serious injuries in the collision in Fayette County, Alabama.

On December 8 at 10.24 am, Collins killed himself and his daughter when he drove into a tree while traveling at 92 kilometers per hour.

The road was wet at the time, according to a State Trooper who responded, and Collins “was unable to operate his vehicle safely.”

Collins was thrown from the truck by the force of the collision, and his daughter, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was sitting in the backseat, “sustained fatal injuries during the crash.”

Police records show that Wendy Bailey, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was slightly thrown from the driver’s door.

In a recent development, Wendy’s father, John Elton Bailey, has been charged in court with neglecting to notify a missing kid.

According to the paperwork, Khaleb was last seen on September 4, more than three months ago.

A criminal complaint alleges that Bailey “failed to report a missing child by delaying to make or failing to cause to be made the report with willful and reckless disregard for the safety of the child and the child suffered serious bodily harm or death.”

Bailey is still being held at the Fayette County Jail on a $100,000 bond after being arrested on December 11.

Khaleb was listed as missing by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Tuesday, December 17.

Winfield, Alabama, was the home of John and Wendy Bailey.

Requests for comment from The U.S. Sun were not immediately answered by sheriff’s office authorities in Fayette County.
