It took place on Thursday afternoon on Hall Road close to Heydenreich. The Uber, a white Chevy Bolt, allegedly struck the passenger side of a Ford Taurus as it pulled into a retail center while speeding, according to Macomb County detectives.

The Taurus was thrown into a white SUV by the impact.

The 55-year-old driver of the Taurus had to be sent to the hospital in critical condition, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.

Despite having minor injuries, the 37-year-old Shelby Township Uber driver and his passenger were transported to the hospital for medical attention. There were no injuries to the third driver.

Drivers claim they have witnessed a wide range of reasons that lead to prior crashes in this area and they want the issue addressed, despite police saying alcohol does not seem to have played a role in this one.
