Aaron Rodgers to hold talks with New York Jets over future today as NFL release one-word statement after milestone
The day following the team’s victory over the New York Jets in Week 18, Aaron Rodgers will meet with the Jets to talk about his future.
The NFL even released a statement after the 41-year-old achieved a significant milestone during the team’s season-finale game.
In the second quarter of the Jets’ victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Rodgers found tight end Tyler Conklin in the end zone to register his 500th career touchdown.
He joined Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady as the fifth quarterback in NFL history to throw 500 touchdown passes.
In a social media statement following the historic accomplishment, the NFL commended Rodgers.

On X, the NFL wrote “Legendary” and included a graphic showing Rodgers’ career statistics.
In order to reach 500 passing touchdowns, Rodgers needed the second-fewest games (248), the post also noted.
He finished 23-of-36 for 274 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception, and he would go on to throw three more pass scores.
Nevertheless, Rodgers guided the Jets to a dismal 5-12 record, and Sunday appears to have been his final game as a member of the squad.
After the Week 18 game, Rodgers informed Fox NFL reporter Pam Oliver that he will talk to the Jets on Monday in order to make a decision on his future during the offseason.
Oliver reciprocated the four-time NFL MVP’s declaration of love toward the end of the interview.
As Rodgers left the field for what might have been his last appearance in an NFL uniform, the two hugged.
Social media users posted their responses to the incident on X.
“It was definitely a nice moment there. I really like his comment about being thankful. “He’s definitely in a good frame of mind,” someone said.
“Classiest thing he’s done all year,” someone else commented.
A third said, “That ending was wholesome,”
Additionally, several supporters thought Rodgers was bidding farewell to his playing days after his encounter with Oliver.
“The final hug and remark. For Rodgers, it might be it,” someone added.
“You can tell in his demeanor that s gonna be his last game,” another stated.
