Top NFL wide-receiver deals Super Bowl contenders huge blow after tearing ACL and missing playoffs
One of an NFL playoff contender’s top wide outs will miss time because of a severe injury sustained in Week 18.
The NFL wide receiver will miss the remainder of the postseason due to an ACL tear.
After Christian Watson tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, it was announced on Monday that the Green Bay Packers would not be able to make the playoffs.
One day after the Packers’ 24–22 loss to the Chicago Bears in the regular-season finale, head coach Matt LaFleur announced the injury on Monday.
During the game’s second quarter, Watson, 25, was carried into the locker room.
When LaFleur said, “I hurt for him,” “I obviously felt bad for our team, but I felt worse for him because I know how much he and all of our men have put into this.

Dontayvion Wicks, another wide receiver, was the target of the ball during a non-contact play when the injury occurred.
Watson was recovering from a bruised left knee injury that kept him out of the game against the Minnesota Vikings the week before.
Whether that affected his most recent injury is unknown.
When Green Bay travels to play the NFC East champion Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card game on Sunday, Watson’s absence means the Packers will be without its best deep threat.
This season, the 25-year-old caught 29 passes for 620 yards and two scores.
During the Week 18 game, Watson was not the only Packers star to sustain an injury.
The quarterbackJordan Love landed on his right elbow and left the game.
Then, late in the game, backup Malik Willis stepped in and slammed his right fist into a Bears player’s helmet.
Luckily for Love, the third and fourth quarters saw him warming up.
LaFleur provided a positive update on Willis and Love.

Due to injury, Watson only played nine games in 2023. This season, he has made an effort to play in a career-high 15 games.
Due to the bad timing, the 25-year-old, who is in the last year of his rookie deal, will probably miss a significant amount of the upcoming season.
