As she celebrated her fifth year sober, Paris Jackson disclosed her hidden heroin addiction.

Paris went on: today is the fifth anniversary of being drug and alcohol-free. To express gratitude would be a bad euphemism. It is scarcely enough to express appreciation.

I’m able to grin today because I’m sober. I get to compose songs. I get to enjoy the happiness that comes from loving my cats and pets. I get to experience the full splendor of heartbreak.

I get to be sad. I get to chuckle. I get to dance. I get trust. I can feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. I’ve discovered that life goes on whether or not I’m sober, but today is my chance to participate.
