Wayne State employee hit, killed on Woodward in Detroit’s Midtown

Around 8:40 a.m., two cars crashed at Woodward and Warren in Midtown, according to Detroit police. A pedestrian was then killed when one of the involved vehicles struck him.

DETROIT (FOX 2):On Wednesday morning, someone was struck and killed on Woodward Avenue when a car crashed into them.

“The impact of the automobiles struck suddenly. As the man stood there, he flew into the air and collapsed. Paula White, a witness, said, “And that scared me because I could only cry because that was somebody’s father, brother, whoever, family member.”

White claimed to have seen the crash and dialed 911 while at a red light. She said that at the time of the collision, one of the vehicles was turning left.

The victim’s employment status at Wayne State University was verified. They are unknown.

About the fatal collision, no other information was given.
