Monroe woman arrested for pushing 8-year-old son into store’s glass door, breaking it

Monroe, Michigan (FOX 2):On January 7, a 32-year-old woman was taken into custody for allegedly abusing children and causing property damage within a grocery store in Monroe.

According to the police, the mother broke a glass door at Town Square Foods in the 1000 block of E. Third Street by pushing her 8-year-old kid into it.

Dispatch reported that a female person had shattered the front entrance of the establishment. Even though the culprit had already departed before the police came, the following incidents were caught on in-store surveillance footage. But later on, she and her kids were discovered at a local company.

According to the police, the mother grabbed her 8-year-old son by the head and neck and shoved him onto a countertop at approximately 4:20 p.m. when she was shopping with several kids. Witnesses said she kept him there with his feet off the ground.

“At that point, she lets loose and pushes him away from her,” according to the police study from Monroe. “He moved aside when the woman attempted to grip his face once more.

“Moments later, the female can be observed pushing her son s entire body into a glass door, causing the glass to break.”

The woman was recognized by the police as a local vagrant. Despite cooperating with the investigation, the woman attributed her actions to her son’s conduct.

The 8-year-old kid and the other five children were placed in protective custody after Child Protective Services was notified and took action. To find family members to whom the children can be turned over, officers are collaborating closely with CPS.
