Carson Beck makes NFL Draft 2025 and transfer portal decision in huge shock for Georgia after brutal injury
Carson Beck, a quarterback for Georgia, has reversed his NFL Draft choice and chosen to use the transfer portal.
Beck was previously thought to be one of the best quarterbacks available in the draft, but a terrible injury has made him reevaluate his choices.
Beck passed for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions during his strong season with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Among all college football quarterbacks, his 80.9 QBR ranked eighth.
Beck’s name was firmly established as a possible first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft for the most of the season, with players like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.
However, during the SEC Championship, Beck’s NFL future took a significant turn.

Beck sustained an injury to his arm halfway through the game that resulted in a UCL tear.
Due to the need for extensive surgery, he was unable to participate in the College Football Playoffs. Without him, Georgia lost their postseason match.
Prior to his move, a statement from Georgia Football stated that Beck should be able to play in the 2025 season.
“Georgia quarterback Carson Beck underwent successful surgery Monday (Dec. 23) on his right elbow to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, Ca,” said the statement.
“A full recovery is expected with throwing to begin spring of 2025.”
Miami is the front-runner to sign Beck for the 2025 campaign now that he is in the transfer portal.
The Hurricanes will require a new quarterback after losing their starting quarterback, Cam Ward, to the NFL Draft.
Beck might succeed in Miami’s scheme and offers two years of starting quarterback experience.
On social media, college football enthusiasts expressed their opinions that this might be a significant step for Miami.
“Could be very beneficial for both Miami and Beck to bolster his draft stock,” a supporter commented.
Another fan remarked, “If Miami can get Beck, that’s a big move.”
