Jerry Jones makes Dallas Cowboys legend clear favorite to become new head coach and replace Mike McCarthy
In his quest to find a new head coach for the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones has taken some initial steps.
It comes as confirmation that there won’t be an extension of Mike McCarthy’s five-year contract, which expires this week.
After Tuesday, McCarthy will no longer be employed, and the Cowboys are searching for a new coach.
One of two franchise icons might be hired, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter provided an update on how the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings would be covered on Monday night football by ESPN.
According to him, preliminary talks have been held with Deion Sanders, the current coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.

Jason Witten, a former tight end, was also brought up.
According to Schefter, they have spoken with Deion Sanders among other contenders.

“I think back to a year and a half ago when I was told to watch Deion Sanders by a former general manager. He has a genuine chance of becoming the Dallas Cowboys’ next head coach.
“Well, there is interest on both sides.
“We’ll see if that increases, but both parties have communicated and made contact.
“I believe the Cowboys may eventually show some interest in Kellen Moore, the offensive coordinator for the Eagles,” Schefter continued.
Perhaps the greatest franchise player of all time, Jason Witten.
“But this is very early on and very preliminary and we’ll see whereJerry Jonesgoes.”
Sanders, 57, won the Super Bowl with the Cowboys while playing for them from 1995 to 1999.
He has repeatedly stated that he is content with his role as Colorado’s coach.

Even though this is “America’s Team,” they have devolved into a laughing stock and need someone to bring them back to their former splendor.
Mike McCarthy’s successor as head coach must possess some enchantment and motivation.

One of the greatest athletes to ever set foot on the field, Sanders, 57, was a member of Dallas’ squad during their most recent Super Bowl victory.
“Prime Time” is precisely what he is, and the Cowboys need that energy.
Now is the ideal moment for Deion to move on as well.
In terms of popularity and performance, he has elevated the Buffaloes to unprecedented levels.
Shedeur Sanders, a quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, is also a senior in college.
If Sanders wishes to remain in college, he could likely get a head coaching position with a team that is a serious contender for a national championship.
However, the opportunity to coach the Dallas Cowboys might not present itself again.
Witten, 42, on the other hand, was a Cowboys tight end who was selected to 11 Pro Bowls.
