Brand new Harley-Davidson dealership to open in just days after spate of store closures around the US

In contrast to a wave of closures for the venerable motorcycle brand throughout the United States, a brand-new Harley-Davidson dealership is scheduled to open in the coming days.

After more than a year of building, the bike shop will open in Ruckersville, Virginia, marking a significant move from Orange County.

As goods was hauled in and the last touches were made to the Stonewall Harley-Davidson dealer earlier in the month, excitement grew.

Numerous Harley-Davidson motorcycles were among them, and they traveled from Orange County to Greene County.

Customers, Harley-Davidson employees, and riders from various riding groups offered to drive the bikes to the new dealership in order to carry the valuable cargo.

We had approximately 30 or 40 riders, and we were escorted in by the Ruckersville Fire Department, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and Greene County police, according to Stonewall Harley-Davidson co-owner Ken Barner, who spoke to 29News.

Evan Bache, a co-owner, went on to say: The cycling community is family.

The new store opened in November 2023 and is situated on Buck Drive off Route 29.

Regarding the previous site, Barner stated: The structure we were in was antiquated and dilapidated.

However, Barner alluded to the effort required to reach their current position.

“I think it’s pretty cool that we finally made it here,” Bache remarked.

We’re thrilled to be in Greene County and have a new beginning, Barner continued.

Across the nation, a large number of Harley dealerships have closed in recent months.

The historic Harley-Davidson in Topeka, Kansas, which underwent a change of ownership after around 75 years, was one such instance.

Additionally, the Harley-Davidson Sports Center in Duluth, Minnesota, which is around 150 miles north of Minneapolis, would no longer be open for customers to visit.

After 73 years, the cherished Harley-Davidson dealership announced in December that it would be closing.

Additionally, a stunning two-story brick Harley-Davidson store in Rosemont, Illinois’s village entertainment center announced its closing in November after relocation plans failed.

Fans of the iconic motorbike brand were ecstatic when their first new model for 2025 was shown a few days ago, though.

This year will see the arrival of the new Street Glide, which will come in a vintage finish that hasn’t been offered in many years.
