Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing unrecognizable roster in 2025 NFL season with 22 players free to leave in mass overhaul
Nearly half of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ roster is leaving for free agency, causing an offseason exodus.
The Buccanneers must focus on the 22 players that are eligible for free agency after falling to the Washington Commanders in the Wild Card round.
The Bucs are very close to being serious postseason candidates.
With Baker Mayfield at quarterback, they advanced to the postseason each of the previous two seasons and won a postseason game the previous year.
But before losing in the opening round of the playoffs, the club regressed this season.
Although there are many places on the squad that might use improvement, the organization must prioritize keeping some important free agents.

In order to maintain their standing as a playoff-caliber team, the Buccaneers must resign some of the top players on those lists.
Chris Godwin is one of the league’s most prolific wide receivers, despite missing the majority of this season due to an injury.
Over the course of his eight-year career, he has amassed 7,266 yards and 41 touchdowns with the Buccaneers.
Another key player the Bucs should keep on the offensive line is Ben Bredson.
He joined the team this season and started at offensive guard in all 17 games.
During the season, Bredson only received two penalties.
Linebacker Lavonte David is one of the most crucial players the Bucs need to let go.
