Detroit school security guard accused of sexually assaulting 14-year-old student

DETROIT (FOX 2):Authorities claim that a school security officer sexually molested a 14-year-old pupil, and the guard is now facing prosecution.

The incident allegedly occurred last year, and Trevon Leviticus Ziglar, 23, was charged on Sunday with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to the prosecution, the attack took place on May 20, 2024, in a stairwell at Cornerstone Jefferson-Douglass Academy. Parents were informed by a pupil who saw the crime.

Authorities claimed the video supported the student’s account of what he observed.

According to Lisa Coyle of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, “there was video of both the complainant and the defendant going to that stairwell at that time, and that they were in that stairwell for about 20 minutes,” “Most troubling is, allegedly, the defendant had told the complainant to tell the witness not to tell anyone.”

According to Coyle, she thinks there might be a more victim.

Ziglar is being held without bond at the Wayne County Jail because it is thought that he poses a threat to the community.

In a statement, Cornerstone Jefferson-Douglass Academy said:

Eight months have passed since the incident. At that moment, we called the Detroit Police right away and alerted the outside security firm to forbid the person from entering any Cornerstone property. Our cooperation with the police has been and continues to be complete.

“The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority and we continue to take all necessary actions to ensure they are in a safe environment.”
