(FOX 2) CLINTON TWP, MIAfter reportedly holding a two-year-old toddler at gunpoint in Clinton Township on Sunday, a man was charged and arraigned in court.

We know:

Dalvin Devonte Brooks, 30, is accused by Macomb County prosecutors of physically assaulting and pointing a gun at his child’s mother on January 12. Brooks is also accused of picking up their two-year-old son and holding him at gunpoint.

When Clinton Township police arrived, Brooks reportedly locked himself in a bedroom of his apartment, aiming his rifle at them and using his son as a human shield.

Eventually, Brooks turned himself in and was taken into custody.

A $500,000 bond was imposed for Brooks when he was arraigned in 41B Clinton Township District Court.

Monday, January 27 at 1 p.m. is the day of the Probable Cause Conference.

“It is my responsibility to make sure that everyone in our community is safe and healthy. This person’s purported behavior is abhorrent. In order to protect these victims and stop additional suffering, we will seek justice to the fullest extent of the law because such acts of violence are unacceptable,” stated Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
