After the Detroit Lions’ devastating NFL loss to the Washington Commanders, head coach Dan Campbell started crying.

Campbell and company’s hopes of winning the Super Bowl were dashed at Ford Field when the Commanders defeated the Lions 45-31.

After the heartbreaking outcome, the 48-year-old immediately became upset as he accepted full responsibility and said it was “his fault” in front of the media.

“What they [the players] put into it…,” a heartbroken Campbell stated. Many people are unaware of their struggles.

“Body beat to s**t, they must get up. You know, do those things and keep your mind locked in.

“Well, long season. My fault, my fault, my fault.”

Following Campbell’s emotional remarks, NFL fans flocked to social media to express their feelings, with some claiming that he wasn’t at fault.

“Dude had a third string defense and his quarterback gave up three bad turnovers,” one fan wrote on Twitter. Not his fault at all.

Another said: “A real leader accepts all accountability. Like this wonderful man right here, a true leader has the courage to show vulnerability.

“Coach Campbell, may you be blessed. You put up a great fight, and the @lions are fortunate to have you. You’ll return.

“Not his fault,” wrote a third. This man is deserving of a lot of praise.

As one fan put it: “This was a playing loss, not a coaching loss.”
