Four Israeli female hostages set to be released TODAY by Hamas in ceasefire deal after 477 days in kidnap hell in Gaza

In the second exchange of the precarious ceasefire agreement, four Israeli women hostages are scheduled to be released from Hamas’ grasp today.

On October 7, soldiers Liri Albag, Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, and Naama Levy were abducted from the Nahal Oz military base.

In Gaza, the women—all in their teens and early twenties—went through 477 days of unspeakable agony.

They were captured in the fatal attacks and were shown in horror films previously published by Hamas militants, bloodied, handcuffed, and pleading for assistance.

However, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed that the soldiers would first arrive at an army facility near the Gaza border for psychological and medical assessments before being sent to hospitals as part of the preparations for their release.

For the first time in almost a year, their frantic relatives are reportedly already on their way to meet their daughters there.

The IDF posted on X (previously Twitter): “We ask the public to be patient and sensitive, and to respect the hostages’ and their families’ privacy.”

According to Palestinian sources who spoke to Israeli channel Channel 13, Hamas is anticipated to turn over the ladies to the Red Cross in Gaza City by noon local time.

The four Israeli women hostages are due to be turned over to the Red Cross in a major square in Gaza City, where dozens of armed and masked Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants have already arrived.

As throngs of Gaza residents gathered around them to observe, they were spotted with assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenade launchers in rows, many of them wearing headbands and holding banners from their organizations.

The 20-year-old Daniela was injured during her kidnapping and then showed her wounds on propaganda videos.

In her abduction video, 20-year-old Naama was shown seriously bleeding and wearing red-stained grey joggers.

Karina, another 20-year-old surveillance soldier, was kidnapped in the confusion of the pre-dawn attack, while Liri, 19, had only been at Nahal Oz for three days before being seized.

The arrangement calls for 180 Palestinian detainees in return for the four women’s release from Hamas.

Following the release of their names by top Hamas officials, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu verified their identities.

Three hostages, including British national Emily Damari, were released in the first exchange on January 18; this arrangement is the second of four scheduled hostage releases.

33 other hostages, including women, children, and old men, are anticipated to be released over the course of six weeks as part of the staged deal.

The fate of the other prisoners is still unknown.

There are concerns that some hostages may have to wait longer for their release because the Bibas boys, who are two and five years old, are among those still in Hamas’ possession.

The list of hostages to be released during the first six-week phase of the truce includes five-year-old Ariel Bibas, his two-year-old sibling Kfir, and their parents, Yarden and Shiri.

However, their family just disclosed that they do not know whether the little boys are alive or dead because Hamas has not produced any evidence of their existence.

Although anticipation for today’s release is strong, the IDF cautions that the road ahead is still precarious.

Red Cross trucks have already begun to approach Kerem Shalom, suggesting that the swap would happen soon.

Tomorrow’s handover comes after three hostages who were kidnapped and imprisoned in hell by Hamas were freed on Saturday, January 18.
