Myles Garrett releases surprise statement demanding Cleveland Browns trade and tipped to join NFL rival

The Cleveland Browns have received a trade request from MYLES Garrett.

Garrett is seeking a change of scenery after eight seasons as one of the most fearsome defensive players in the game.

Before the 2025 NFL season begins, Garrett would like to join a new team, he said in a statement posted on Monday.

“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl — and that goal fuels me today more than ever,” wrote Garrett.

“This has been one of the hardest decisions of my life because of my love for the Northeast Ohio community and the Cleveland Browns’ amazing fan base.

“I am the guy I am now because of the eight years that have passed.

“Even though I have enjoyed being in this city, I can’t afford to be complacent because I want to succeed and compete on the largest platforms.

“The objective has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl, not to go from Cleveland to Canton.

“With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”

Garrett just finished his eighth consecutive double-digit sack season and his sixth Pro Bowl campaign.

He has won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award.
