FOX 2, Pontiac, Mich.A fourth individual is being charged with murder in connection with the incident.

In relation to Sam Simko’s murder, Christopher Matacia, 33, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was charged with two charges of felony firearm, armed robbery, felony murder, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

The backstory

On January 13, Simko, 66, was killed in what seemed to be a robbery at his marijuana plant in Pontiac.

Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald stated, “The evidence suggests that Sam Simko’s murder was the result of a well-coordinated and cold-blooded robbery of his business.” “Everyone involved in the senseless murder of Sam Simko will be brought to justice because Oakland County is, and must remain, a safe place to do business.”

Investigators had earlier located three additional suspects—Deonte Prophett, Scott Brown, and William Creasy—in Cincinnati and charged them with murder.

According to Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, Simko was discovered with a bag over his head, zip-tied, and shot. One of the males was allowed to enter the company, while the others pushed their way inside, according to Bouchard.

“Masked and gloved individuals, as they burst into the business, they basically executed the owner,” he stated.
