Los Angeles Firefighters Extinguish Vermont Vista Home Blaze in 13 Minutes, Ensure Safety of Two Adults

DEBARYLIFE – A single-family home near Vermont Vista caught fire earlier today, triggering an immediate response from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At 8:20 AM, the incident—designated INC#0422—that happened at 650 W 111th Place was originally reported. As firefighters prepared to combat the fire, they noticed moderate smoke coming from the one-story house, according to the LAFD.

When the LAFD got on the scene, reports stated that patients were inside the house.

In an attempt to contain the fire, which appeared to have focused in a room in the back of the house, crews stormed into the structure.

According to the LAFD, the firefighters’ prompt and decisive actions caused the fire to “knock down” in just 13 minutes. The damage to one room and a portion of the adjacent hallway was limited by the quick handling of the emergency.

Two adult occupants were successfully rescued from the fire by the first responder team, which was made up of 33 firefighters.

The people were fortunate, according to the LAFD, to have only mild smoke inhalation before being taken out of the building safely. LAFD ambulances took both victims to a nearby hospital so they could receive additional medical attention.
