Miami-Dade Jet Ski Shop Owner Brutally Murdered, Suspect Arrested on Second-Degree Murder Charges
DEBARYLIFE – According to officials, a terrifying execution-style killing claimed the life of a Jet Ski business owner in Miami-Dade County. Owner of the Northwest Miami-Dade company German Amado De La Cruz Jr. was shot and killed on Wednesday night after an altercation with a suspect who has since been taken into custody by police.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, so local law enforcement came to the area at 3570 NW 50th St. and found De La Cruz badly wounded. According to NBC Miami, the cherished company owner and father of two passed away from his wounds despite being taken to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.
As per officials and interviews, the reason for the shooting is still unknown, and the victim’s close acquaintances, one of whom works in the vicinity, expressed surprise by mentioning the violence’s unlikely expectation and lack of trust.
As reported by Local 10 News, Joseph Fullwood, 46, of Miami was arrested on Thursday during a traffic check and is now accused of killing De La Cruz in the second degree. Police detectives in Miami-Dade County claimed that Fullwood went into the Jet Ski repair business, approached De La Cruz, and shot him to death without giving any indication that he was provoked.

The witness entered the establishment after hearing gunfire, called 911, and recognized the suspect when he rode away on a bicycle. The sequence of events leading to Fullwood’s arrest was pieced together by law enforcement with the assistance of surveillance video footage that supported the eyewitness testimony.
Police highlighted that the suspect “provided several different inconsistent statements that did not correspond with the evidence and surveillance camera footage obtained from the scene.”
At the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, Fullwood is being detained without bond.
