NJ Families Distressed Over Relatives’ Safety in Israel After Iran’s Attack
People who live in New Jersey and have family members who are currently residing in Israel have expressed concern for their safety in light of Iran’s air attacks that have been directed at the Middle Eastern nation.
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, Jason Shames, has reported that his sister and her children are currently located in Israel. On Sunday evening, he had a conversation with Amanda Lee of News 12.
“Like everyone else, I’m horrified and I’m disgusted and I’m aggravated, and I’m frustrated by what happened again last night,” he explained to reporters. It was shared by Shames what his family members who are currently living abroad are going through.
Yesterday evening, my sister placed my three nephews and my niece, who is only a tiny girl, to sleep in the secure room that they have in their apartment. Shames explained that in this manner, they would not be required to relocate them in the middle of the night if a siren had sounded. “It happens so many times now that they’re used to it but it’s not something that we should say is acceptable or should become the norm.”
Following the attack that Iran launched on Israel, the police in the Garden State have announced that they are increasing the level of security near synagogues. It was recommended by Shames that people who adhere to the Jewish faith maintain communication with the government.
The law enforcement agency is collaborating with us in a very intimate manner, and the information flow is in both directions. “What we have been requesting from individuals is that they report everything that takes place,” Shames emphasized on.
