Hammond Resident Fatally Shot in Porter County, IN Incident, How Much Bad Is!
Hammond, Indiana – A Hammond man lost his life in a shooting that happened in Portage, Indiana early on Monday morning.
Following reports of a shooting at a property on the 5300 block of Aspen Avenue, Portage Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene at around 12:35 a.m.
When they arrived, they found a male adult who had been shot. Despite the cops’ prompt medical intervention, the victim was declared deceased on the spot.
The incident seems to be a singular occurrence that only those who were present at the time were involved in, according to Captain Rob Maynard, Public Information Officer with the Portage Police Department.

Although authorities have identified a person of interest, they don’t think the community is currently in danger.
The Coroner’s Office will notify the family after the shooting investigation is complete, and more information will then be made public.
