Suspected Kidnapper Arrested: Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Takes Action
A man who is suspected of kidnapping and threatening an unidentified driver in Englewood on Friday was taken into custody by the Douglas County Sheriff’s office on Sunday.
According to the press announcement, Thomas Pratt, who is 42 years old, was taken into custody on allegations of kidnapping.
It is said that Pratt intimidated his victim with a weapon and forced the victim to drive from the vicinity of 9200 S. Broadway to Broadway and Chenango in Englewood. The incident took place on Friday before 7 o’clock in the evening.
The victim, who has not been recognized at this time, did not sustain any injuries, as stated by the authorities.
There are a number of accusations that have been brought against Pratt, including first-degree kidnapping, felony menacing, first-degree criminal trespass, and a breach of his parole. The arrest was made following an investigation that was conducted in conjunction with a number of different law enforcement authorities.
“Deputies worked around the clock since this happened to track down the suspect,” said Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly in a statement. “Deputies made every effort to locate the suspect.”
“If you prey on Douglas County residents,” he said stated. “We will find you and hold you accountable.”
