Showroom ‘SCAM’! Three Men Face Charges For Selling Appliances Stolen From New Homes
TAMPA, Florida —
Authorities claim to have broken up a portion of a crime ring that sold brand-new appliances that were pilfered from Florida’s new construction dwellings.
Three men were detained after it was alleged that they had purchased the goods and then resold them in two improvised showrooms—a house and a storage facility—in and around Tampa. Those residences were spread throughout five counties.
One of the suspects was even “publishing the stolen appliances for sale online,” according to detectives.
Ultimately, they were able to retrieve unsold stolen property valued at over $100,000.
