19-Year-Old Faces Murder Charges After Teen Fatally Shot In SoHo And Caught Or Not?
DEBARYLIFE – A 16-year-old was shot and killed in SoHo; a 19-year-old has been taken into custody and charged with murder.
Friday morning, Henry Thomas was taken into custody in Harlem. Police are still looking for a second suspect in the death of Makhi Brown, so he gets charged with murder.
When someone drew a gun and shot Brown in the head, he was reportedly intervening between two Broome Street Academy Charter High School pupils. “He is just that way. He’s a devoted individual. That’s simply what his father, Maurice Brown, said was ingrained in him.
Officials said that two males rode off on a Citi Bike from the scene of the incident.
Family members paid tribute to the 16-year-old victim on Wednesday night and asked for a stop to gun violence.

Brown was a standout basketball player and student in high school who had expressed interest in playing collegiate basketball.
His aunt Fatima Brown recalled, “watching him from a baby, changing his Pampers as he grew to be a gentleman, loved school, loved sports.”
At a vigil for Brown earlier this week, local officials in East Flatbush, where he resided, appealed to the community to put an end to gun violence in the area.
Nothing is truly safe outside in New York City. Queens, Staten Island, Coney Island, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan. There’s this everywhere,” remarked Maurice Brown.
