Rolex Robbery Rampage! Victim Attacked Before Elevator, LAPD Holds Suspect

Surveillance video captured a horrific crime in downtown Los Angeles, in which a man wearing a Rolex watch was pummeled senselessly and robbed by another man.

Police apprehended Pablo Garcia, 25, of Los Angeles, for the robbery that occurred on April 28, 2024, in the 800 block of East 1st Street. The Los Angeles Police Department released video of the incident, which shows the victim being struck in the head many times by his assailant.

“The suspect reached for the victim’s Rolex watch, then brutally assaulted the victim to the point where the victim lost consciousness,” police added. “The suspect removed the victim’s Rolex watch and fled the location.”

A man wearing a red shirt and dark trousers enters the building and walks towards an elevator. The suspect is close behind, sporting a black and white hoodie and black jeans. The man in the hoodie sneaks up behind his victim and appears to grasp for his watch, which is on his left wrist. As the astonished man turns around, his assailant sucker strikes him in the face, knocking him down.

As the sufferer collides with the tile floor, his sunglasses and another personal item fly across the floor.

The culprit is shown on video struggling to remove the victim’s watch from his wrist while the injured man lies on the ground. When the victim stirs, the suspect punches him many times in the head until he appears to be unconscious.

The man then exits the scene carrying the Rolex watch. According to police, the victim received treatment for his injuries.

On May 14, police apprehended the suspect, identified as Garcia, in Downey, California. Authorities say he was taken into custody without incident.

Garcia was accused with robbery and is presently being jailed on $450,000 bail.

Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department suspect Garcia robbed other individuals who have not been reported. Police have posted Garcia’s photo and asked that any possible victims come forward to speak with police.

The Los Angeles Police Department is also requesting the public for assistance in recovering the victim’s watch.
