Another person has been arrested by police as part of their inquiry into a stabbing on a busy Longsight road.
Around 6.15 p.m. last Friday, May 17, there was an attack on Slade Lane. Greater Manchester Police said the victim, a male in his 20s, had a chest stab wound.
From the site, he was taken in critical condition to a hospital. ‘Stable’ presently, he is still in the hospital. A 17-year-old kid was detained last night (Sunday) on suspicion of attempted murder concerning the incident. He’s still being held while cops question him.

Stepped-up police patrols are still in place. “We have continued with our inquiries over the weekend which has led us to arrest another individual concerning this incident,” said Detective Inspector John Robb of the GMP’s City of Manchester division. People should contact the extra police who will be in the area if they have any concerns or information that could help us with our inquiry. I appreciate the patience and assistance of the community thus far.
“We hope the job we have done so far underlines our aims of always delivering outstanding public service and building public trust and confidence across Greater Manchester.”
