Suspect Charged in Fatal Overdose Case: Opioid Supplier Arrested Months After Victim’s Death

The suspect who was connected to the death of a guy who had died from an overdose of drugs was charged in the inquiry some months after the victim’s death.

Deputy sheriffs responded to a call regarding a death in January, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, which stated on Monday that the investigation began at that initial point.

Antonio Deangelo Heck, 42 years old, was taken into custody by the sheriff’s office on Friday. Heck is residents of Robeson County. According to the findings of the investigation conducted by the sheriff’s office, Heck was the supplier of the opioids that are responsible for the fatal overdose. A charge of death by distribution was brought against him.

Deputy sheriffs stated that they observed a change in his speech as he was being booked at the magistrate’s office. They also observed that he was attempting to swallow a plastic bag that contained cocaine.

The investigators were successful in convincing Heck to spit it out, and they claim that he did. After that, they discovered that the bag contained twelve grams of cocaine, according to the county sheriff’s office. After that, Heck was charged with possessing a controlled narcotic while he was staying in the correctional facility.

The Lee County Jail was holding Heck without a bond at the time of his arrest.
