Unthinkable Tragedy: NYC Mother Accused of Killing Daughter in ‘House of Horrors’

DEBARYLIFE – In the “House of Horrors,” a horrifying mother from the Bronx is accused of killing her 6-year-old daughter by beating and hanging her by the wrists. This was the last in a long string of horrifying acts against children.

The borough’s Morrisania section’s East 165th Street inhabitant, Lynija Eason, 27, is charged with assaulting her child, Jelayah Eason Branch, severely for several weeks beginning on March 1.

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday that police found the young girl’s death in the filthy apartment on Sunday.

The young girl was discovered emaciated and bruised, with marks on her wrists from the shackles her mother had allegedly used to beat and hang her in a cupboard.

DA Darcel Clark stated in a press statement that “the little girl was allegedly beaten by the defendant with a hard object and hanged by her wrists.”

“Jelayah’s mother is said to have caused her pain and hunger for weeks before her death.”

According to the DA, Jelayah’s death was determined to be caused by malnourishment, blunt force trauma, positional asphyxia, and child maltreatment by the city medical examiner’s office.

“We are offering services and support to Jelayah’s two siblings who survived a house of horrors, and we will bring Jelayah justice,” Clark continued.

According to Clark, Eason has been charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, and second-degree murder.

Justice Brenda Rivera of the Bronx Supreme Court issued an order to maintain Eason’s remand, which means she will stay incarcerated at the Rose M. Singer Center in the Bronx.
