DEBARYLIFE – The U.S. Coast Guard retrieved two boaters who were discovered clinging to a water cooler in the open ocean on Sunday in a spectacular rescue effort.

The tragedy, which happened about 20 miles off the coast of Cape May, New Jersey, is a sobering reminder of the dangers associated with maritime travel.

Due to choppy seas and high winds, the boat carrying John Miller and Mark Thompson abruptly capsized while they were fishing.
