A New Chapter Begins? Valparaiso Police Department Welcomes In New Officer
DEBARYLIFE – David Jolliff was sworn in as a new officer to the Valparaiso Police Department today. The ceremony was conducted by Mayor Jon Costas in the council chambers of City Hall, and it was seen by numerous officers, civilian employees, and family members.
David was greeted to the Valparaiso Police Department family by Chief Andrew McIntyre during the event, who acknowledged his training and experience.
Chief McIntyre remarked, “We are incredibly proud of our department and honored to serve our community.” “We are excited for David to begin a long and successful career with our agency. He brings experience that will fit our department culture.”
After working with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department in Missouri since 2011, David Jolliff brings 13 years of experience in law enforcement to VPD.

Jolliff worked in Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and since 2019, he has been a Task Force Officer on the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Apprehension Team.
Jolliff has also completed an extensive range of training, such as many courses on SWAT operations, multiple certifications for instructors, investigation techniques, drone piloting, and evidence gathering.
Jolliff, who graduated from the Missouri Law Enforcement Academy in 2011 at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, is ready to start his department training right away.
