Aaron Rodgers retirement update with quarterback facing ‘uphill battle’ and New York Jets planning major changes
According to an insider report, Aaron Rodgers will have a difficult time continuing to play next season.
Next week is the future Hall of Fame quarterback’s 41st birthday.
He signed with the New York Jets last year, but he has had two injury-plagued seasons with the team.
And despite a dismal season, the Jets have only won three of their eleven games.
Earlier this month, Rodgers was asked if he would like to come back next year.
To which the 40-year-old said, “I think so, yeah,”

However, Ian Rapoports of the NFL Network stated that Rodgers would face a “uphill battle” if he were to play in 2025.
It would be a “shock” to see the quarterback behind center at MetLife Stadium, he cited one insider as saying.
Four plays into his first season, Rodgers tore his Achilles, causing him to miss the whole season with the Jets.
He has struggled with hamstring, ankle, and knee problems this year.
According to Rapoport, Rodgers has been reluctant to have scans done because he is afraid of learning the true depth of his injury and losing playing time.
If Rodgers played the following season, the Jets would also owe him $38 million.
However, none of the funds are assured, so the team and the quarterback may decide to split ways.
Additionally, Woody Johnson, the Jets’ owner, has big changes in store for the team.
Following a 2-3 start to the season, head coach Robert Saleh was fired in October.
Earlier this month, general manager Joe Douglas also received his marching orders.
A “think tank” has been created by Johnson to supervise the process of finding a new general manager and head coach.
It is headed by former Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman and former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Rodgers is entering his 20th season in the NFL and has won MVP four times.
After he finishes playing, he doesn’t seem to have any plans to enter the media.
According to the Daily Mail, Rodgers is instead considering a career in politics.
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be his secretary of health and human services.

Kennedy Jr. proposed that if he ran for president, Rodgers should be his running partner.
However, the politician chose Nicole Shanahan over Rodgers in his bid.
