Allendale County Rocked by Three Shootings: Teen Killed, Officer and Child Hurt

ALLENDALE, S.C. — According to the authorities, a shooting that took place over four days in South Carolina’s smallest county resulted in the death of one adolescent, as well as the injury of a police officer and a child aged eleven.

In a statement to the media, the police stated that the shootings began on Wednesday when an 11-year-old boy was shot inside of a residence in Allendale.

Then, early on Saturday morning, a girl who was asleep and was 14 years old was killed when many rounds were fired into her home in Fairfax, which is around 5 miles away, according to the authorities. She has not been identified at this time. According to statements made by Allendale Police Chief Lawrence Wiggins to several media sites, an officer from the Allendale Police Department sustained injuries while responding to a shooting that occurred less than a mile (1.6 kilometers) away from the shooting that occurred on Wednesday.

According to Wiggins, the cop had critical injuries but is anticipated to make a full recovery. The identity of the officer was not disclosed by the commissioner.

Even though schools in Allendale County were open on Monday, school officials announced that there will be metal detectors and that pupils’ smartphones will be confiscated until they leave for home. Additionally, they urged kids to refrain from carrying backpacks with them.
