Amazon makes major policy change for holiday gift returns – and it’s good news for shoppers

For holiday buyers, Amazon’s MAJOR policy change is fantastic news.

With only 16 days left until Christmas, many people are rushing to get their last-minute presents from the online retailer.

Amazon wants to assist if an item comes damaged or if the recipient is unhappy for any reason.

To give additional time to address the issue, it is extending the standard 30-day return policy timeframe.

The majority of products sold on Amazon are eligible for the 2024 Holiday Season Extended Return Window.

Qualifying products must have been bought no later than December 31 and no earlier than November 1.

Customers have until January 31, 2025, to return any qualified items they purchase during the timeframe.

This is a significant extension of the regular return policy for customers who purchased things on November 1.

They have almost three months instead of just one.

Additionally, Apple devices are exempt, with a more constrained deadline of January 15, 2025.

“For the 2024 holiday season, most items purchased between November 1 and December 31, 2024, can be returned through January 31, 2025,” according to the guidelines.

“Apple brand products purchased between November 1 and December 31, 2024, can be returned through January 15, 2025.”

Amazon has a straightforward return policy.

Certain products are not returnable, and the policies of certain third-party sellers differ from those of Amazon.

Customers can check if an item qualifies for Amazon Prime to find out which policy it is.

If so, it is subject to Amazon’s return guidelines.

Amazon’s website has more information regarding returns to third-party sellers, returns to the Amazon Global Store, returns that are misplaced, returns of things you ordered, and refunds.

Members of Amazon Prime should also keep in mind another fantastic perk available this holiday season.

Thanks to their membership, anyone searching for inexpensive aircraft tickets to visit loved ones could find them for as little as $25.

Only Prime members who have the young adult plan, which is intended for customers aged 18 to 24, can access it.

Customers can receive inexpensive tickets starting at $25 with about 1,000 available daily from December 9 to December 13 once they activate their StudentUniverse incentive after signing up.

Travel dates for flights must fall between December 9 and January 14.

Amazon has been providing young individuals with the offer for the past two years.

StudentUniverse’s vice president of Global Supply and Brand Partnerships, Mirza Smajic, highlighted Amazon’s goal of assisting students in returning home for the holidays.

According to a release from Smajic, “This campaign is a loving way to bring joy during the holiday season by helping young people across the country travel home to reconnect with loved ones.”
