Amazon Prime announces major TNF broadcast change for huge NFC showdown with WWE icon brought on board
Jim Ross, a legend in the WWE, will make a special appearance in the NFL.
Many people believe that Ross, 72, is the best commentator in professional wrestling history.
However, JR will now be providing the voiceover for this Thursday’s Thursday Night Football game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers on Amazon Prime.
This week, the Packers and Lions will square off at Ford Field.
In the game’s cold-open video package, the Oklahoma icon disclosed his role.
Ross wrote on Twitter: “If you re watching @PrimeVideo tonight for the @Lions vs. @packers showdown, check out the cold open that I voiced over this morning.”

JR had already covered the Atlanta Falcons’ radio broadcasts in 1992, so this won’t be his first time in the NFL.
Ross continues to work with AEW, where he occasionally appears for the professional wrestling organization.
Despite some recent health issues, the announcer continues to play a significant role in Tony Khan’s promotion.
Ross has covered some of the greatest matches in history as well as a number of WrestleManias.
John Cena vs. Randy Orton, The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, and the Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin trilogy all had play-by-play commentary from the commentator.
In addition, Ross has participated in the WWEring on a few occasions, sharing the squared circle alongside Triple H, Austin, and Cena.
The iconic commentators Tony Schiavone and Taz now share the booth with the WWE Hall of Famer.
