American Airlines CEO blames military helicopter for DC plane crash as near misses & flight path tracker add to mystery

The tragic midair accident in Washington, DC, which is believed to have killed 64 passengers, was attributed by the CEO of American Airlines to a military helicopter.

The cause of Wednesday night’s deadly collision in Washington, DC, involving a Black Hawk military chopper and an American Airlines passenger flight, remains unclear to officials.

“We don’t currently know why the military aircraft got in the way of the PSA aircraft,” Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines, stated Thursday morning.

It comes as the military jet’s claimed flight route has generated online rumors since, based on FlightRadar24’s flight tracker footage, it looks to fly quite close to the American Airlines jet.

Dozens of people who were on the jet are now thought to have died.

In a post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump also hinted that the military chopper might be to blame.

Trump posted, “The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport,” on Truth Social.

“For a long time, the helicopter was flying directly toward the aircraft.

“It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn t the helicopter go up or down, or turn,” he stated, adding that it “looks like it should have been prevented.”
