Americans to score $1,000 monthly payments in free money from new ‘boost’ program – and there are no strings attached

Through a new program, Americans might get $1,000 monthly payouts with no conditions.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the funds, students must be enrolled in a health-related program at one of the four LACCD universities.

Additionally, they have to meet L.A. County’s definition of low-income.

In order to qualify for this free money, students must also demonstrate how their inability to pay for college has impacted their capacity to study.

The first batch of funding was distributed in November after 250 students were chosen to receive the free money.

By Thanksgiving, these students should have received their first $1,000, according to college officials.

According to LAist, the program’s administrators said that it would enable underprivileged students to help their families, meet their basic necessities, and complete their degrees.

According to the LACCD’s interim chancellor, “they face financial insecurity, many of them having to make a choice between going to school or getting a job [and] many are the sole providers for their families.”

Last month, UWBA unveiled the first guaranteed basic income pilot program as part of its efforts to combat poverty in the Bay Area.

A $3,000 deposit has already been given to 100 families, with additional recurring payments planned for the entire year.
