Android owners to receive brand new button to stop annoying spam messages that EAT your storage
A brand-new button will be added to Android users’ phones to stop spam data from consuming important storage space.
The code for the nextbeta update appears to be where the new tool is being developed.
A line in the data for Google Messages’ v20241125_04 beta was selected by Google fans.
It is intended to solve a problem with spam texts in messaging systems that rely on RCS.
An alternative to conventional SMS texting that supports data and WiFi is called RCS (Rich Communication System).
Many contemporary cellphones employ Google Messages and its Apple counterpart, simply called Messages, which are both devoid of a typical phone signal.
According to reports, the former is now launching a strategy to counter unsolicited communications, including “cold texts” from businesses.
RCS Business Messages (RBM), a service used by businesses to distribute mass marketing materials, will include a new ‘STOP’ button that will enable users to unsubscribe.
Similar to email marketing, this button would appear as an option when you received an RBM and let you unsubscribe from the service.
Additionally, it eliminates the need for you to manually block each sender or unsubscribe by texting back.
If you want to receive marketing, you can also text “START” for free to be added back to the list.
The change is one of many tools designed to assist consumers in handling unwelcome messages, including texts from scammers.
Additionally, a pop-up will appear when you receive an RBM informing you that your network has confirmed the sender.
As is common for other RCS communications, it will also let you know if the chat is end-to-end encrypted.
Additionally, the program will notify you if there is an unknown sender or questionable link.
The feature’s release date is unknown, but stay tuned for it in the wake of future software upgrades.
