Andy Reid makes shock Fox NFL Sunday cameo and sends message to panel star ahead of his new career venture
In an unexpected visit on Fox NFL Sunday, Andy Reid gave advise and congratulations to one of his old teammates.
Last week, it was announced that Michael Vick, a four-time Pro Bowler, would be leaving the program after seven years.
When it was revealed that Vick, 44, would be joining the Norfolk State Spartans as head coach, he started crying.
In addition to discussing the career move, Vick stated: “Some of the best advise I’ve ever received was from Jimmy [Johnson] last week.
“Everyone has been telling me, ‘You need to follow Jimmy’s instructions from last week, so I know.
“But between coaches and players just going on a diligent search and trying to do it right and Jimmy’s phone will be ringing off the hook.”

“You know what I told you, recruit,” Johnson, who won the Orange Bowl with the Miami Hurricanes and two Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys, continued.
“excellent coaches are excellent players.
“Everyone in that organization—every secretary, every backup offensive guard, everyone—is necessary to establish a successful culture.
“How do you do that? You need to interact with everyone because nobody like being ignored.
“Especially by the leader and you’re the leader.”
Then it came to light that Andy Reid had written Vick a message.
Vick spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009 to 2012 as coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, who have won three of the last five Super Bowls.
After Vick was suspended and imprisoned for dog fighting, Reid was the coach who gave him another shot. During his time with the Eagles, Vick was voted the NFL’s comeback player of the year and made it to the Pro Bowl in 2010.
Reid stated via video message: “Is that school fortunate to have you, Michael Vick man?
“Those kids are lucky to have you to teach them from, and you’re going to do a fantastic job.
“You’ll be fantastic for the university; you’ll be outstanding.
“I know you’ll do a fantastic job for them, and I love you.” I’m now a Norfolk supporter and wish you well in the future.”
“It wasn’t the easiest decision to make, you know. I have family that I sincerely care about, that I love, and you know, this requires a lot of change,” Vick said in a statement following the announcement last week.
“But, at the same time, it allows me to serve young men in my community.”
“I recognize the importance of a [historically black college and university,” he continued.

“It’s much better because it’s in my hometown.
“And so, it s a great admiration for HBCUs, the NFL has numerous partnerships with HBCUs, so I think it shows that people care, you know, you ve got these big time Division 1 programs where they ve got all these amazing things, bells and whistles, money, and they tend to forget about the HBCUs and the schools that have the same type of prominence, and so, to start here, it wasn t even by design.”
