‘Another senseless incident’: Road rage leads to shooting on Southfield Freeway

DETROIT (FOX 2):According to police, a road rage incident on the Southfield Freeway on Wednesday morning resulted in multiple gunshots to a driver’s vehicle.

The victim, a 33-year-old Taylor man, was shot at approximately 8:45 a.m. while traveling north on the interstate close to Schoolcraft, according to Michigan State Police.

“It looks like this is just another illogical instance of a driving conflict being resolved with a handgun. “We are extremely lucky that none of these bullets hit anyone,” MSP F/Lt. Mike Shaw stated.

Since then, police have taken a person into custody and found a pistol.

On the Southfield Freeway service drive close to 8 Mile, police stopped a car with gunshot holes after receiving a call about the incident. They spoke with the driver and found out that he was unharmed in the shooting.

At Grand River, the alleged shooting exited the freeway.
