Anthony Davis sends clear message to LA Lakers rivals after dominant win over NBA champion Boston Celtics

On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers shocked the Boston Celtics with a decisive victory.

The Lakers won 117-96 thanks to 20 points and 14 rebounds from LeBron James, 24 points from Anthony Davis, and 23 points from Austin Reaves.

The Lakers improved to 24-18 and moved up to sixth place in the NBAWestern Conference with the victory over the Celtics.

Despite a strong defensive performance, Davis believes the team is “right there” but still far from being a serious contender.

“I think we need another big,” he told ESPN.

“I feel like I’ve always been at my best when I’ve been the 4, having a big out there.”

Davis mentioned how the 2020 Championship team capitalized on having those additional bigs.

“When we won a championship with Dwight [Howard] and JaVale [McGee] at the five and me at the four, we knew it worked.”

“As far as the squad and all that, we feel like we are right there, you know.

“[LeBron] and I are like very, very motivated to win another championship.”

“I think our front office is, obviously, working,” he continued.

“Rob has been attempting to improve the team. However, for us, it’s about playing outside.

“We have to go out and compete with whatever is in this locker room, just like we did tonight, whether or not anything occurs.

“We’re planning to take a [road] trip.

“I don’t know what will happen, and I know that [Rob] is always working on the phones and other things.

However, we can’t try to wait for anything in the end.

“We got to go out and compete and do what we got to do to to win basketball games.”

New rights deal

Three networks and the NBA inked an 11-year agreement for the league’s rights starting in 2025–2026.

Additionally, for the first time since the network’s 1988 debut, TNT will not be hosting any games.

ESPN and ABC will continue to broadcast the league’s 80 regular-season games, according to The Walt Disney Company.

The NBA Finals will continue to be held there, along with about 18 playoff games from the first and second rounds and a Conference Finals series for ten of the eleven years.

For the first time since 2002, NBC will broadcast the NBA again.

Up to 100 games will be broadcast on the network’s channels and Peacock streaming service each season.

In addition, it will host NBA All-Star games and include about 28 first- and second-round playoff games.

NBC will alternate with upstart broadcaster Amazon Prime to telecast one Conference Finals Series for six of the eleven years.

66 NBA regular-season games, including one on Black Friday, will be available on Amazon.

The complete Play-In Tournament and the final stages of the NBA Cup are also available on the streaming service.

Additionally, about one-third of the first- and second-round playoff games will be televised on Prime.

LeBron had one of his most complete games of the season, dominating the boards, returning to his best defensive form, and spearheading the team’s offensive attack.

“Share the ball offensively and play tough defense. Talk.

Boston is aware of who they are, so I don’t think it’s even about them.

“We are continuously studying and working to improve our skills in the areas we wish to pursue.

“We’ll have a game plan in place for such a great team, but they’re in a different place than we are.”

LeBron responded, “No, that’s not how our team is constructed,” when asked if they were prepared to play at this level all the time.

“There isn’t much space for mistakes.” There is nothing we can do.
