FOX 2, Roseville, Mich.Based on DNA evidence discovered, Macomb County authorities have confirmed to FOX 2 that charges against Ashley Elkins’ ex-boyfriend are anticipated to be brought on Friday.
According to Macomb County sources, De’Andre Booker’s murder charges are anticipated to be filed on Friday, as reported by FOX 2’s Jessica Dupnack. These will be on top of the charges Booker previously faced for lying to the police.
According to the sources, DNA evidence will be used to support the charges.
Elkins, 30, texted her family to say she was conducting errands and then vanished on January 2. Her family thought Booker killed her and was implicated in her disappearance right away.
The sources did not verify the source of the DNA evidence.
After searching Booker’s flat, police confiscated a dumpster to hunt for evidence. After searching the waste for almost a week, Roseville Police and other law enforcement officials never found her body.
At 10 a.m. on Friday, Booker will appear in court for his arraignment on murder charges. Following the arraignment, a press conference will be held by Macomb County officials.

A suspect is charged in Ashley Elkins’ case
De’Andre Booker was detained last week.
Booker, 32, where he looked up the quickest ways to get to Ohio. He is suspected of plotting to flee the state, and the prosecution stated last week that he also looked into whether blood can be traced, how to pass a polygraph, and what to do while on the run.
He apparently also searched for information on how to remove his Google search history.
These searches, according to the prosecution, indicate that Booker would run away if he were freed on bond. On Thursday, a $250,000 cash/surety bond was established for him.
Why was De’Andre Booker arrested?
Since Booker went missing on January 2 and her phone last pinging at the flat, Elkins’ family had been wary of her.
A few days after Frazho vanished, police investigated his flat near Gratiot and contacted Booker when Elkins was reported missing. Elkins’ car was discovered abandoned two miles away that same day.
A dumpster was removed by police as evidence during that search.
The car belonging to Ashley Elkins was located in Roseville on Tuesday. Since January 2, the mother of two has gone missing.
In a statement, Elkins’ family stated, “We believe Ashley was murdered because of the substantial evidence that was gathered at the ex-boyfriend’s house.”
Booker was taken into custody in Flint on Wednesday.
He allegedly misled police regarding Elkins’ car and his whereabouts. Video evidence, according to authorities, proved that he lied.
