Astro Bot and Final Fantasy 7 clean up among controversial Game Awards nominees

The 2024 nominees for THE Game Awards, the Oscars of gaming, were recently revealed.

With seven nominations apiece, Astro Bot and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth received the most, but Metaphor: ReFantazio came in second with six.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Helldivers 2, Hellblade 2, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree all received four nominations, while Silent Hill 2 and Balatro both received five.

Since this is the first year that DLC has received a nomination for Game of the Year, Elden Ring was especially unexpected.

The winners will be revealed when the Game Awards return on December 12, 2024.
