Attorney General Tim Griffin Cracks Down on Texas Robocaller for Violating Bans
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — According to a press release, Attorney General Tim Griffin is asking the courts to take further action against a robocaller located in Texas who has violated permanent restrictions.
John Spiller is the company’s owner. It is known as Rising Eagle Capital Group, LLC. Griffin claims that despite being permanently barred from telemarketing, Spiller is running other businesses.
The United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas barred Spiller in March 2023 for telemarketing phone harassment.
Griffin forbade Spiller and his business associates from engaging in telemarketing along with seven other state attorneys general.
“Every Arkansan finds unsolicited calls to be inconvenient. Griffin declared, “I will keep fighting against robocallers who disobey the law and the courts.

The first firefly sanctuary in Arkansas is located at Coler Mountain Bike Preserve.
Since being sued in the first place, Spiller reportedly established at least three additional companies through which he makes telemarketing calls, according to the press release.
Griffin and other attorneys general are requesting that the court prohibit Spiller from using any phone-related services because he violated these bans. This includes using the US phone network to make calls, using text messaging services, and enabling ringless voicemail messages.
Additionally, the attorneys general are requesting that Spiller liquidate all of his current phone service businesses.
Attorneys general request that Spiller be compelled to pay more than $122 million, which would have been suspended had he complied with the initial court decision, in addition to these new restrictions.
