A knife was found at the scene along with biological evidence. In addition, the mother may have driven off with the two kids and crashed into a tree.

Authorities claimed that the two kids were “expelled” from the vehicle while it was in motion. It is still unclear if the infant passed away on the highway sooner or later.

Police claimed that the 9-year-old girl, who is thought to have witnessed the murder, was hospitalized for her injuries and is currently being held in safe care.

A fight was heard from the apartment the previous night, and when they looked around the next morning, they discovered blood, according to neighbors who spoke to Los Angeles ABC station KABC.

“Their door was wide open, there was blood on the floor leading into their apartment, and then a trail of it in the hallway leading up to the elevator and I saw some blood on the wall,” the lady, 26, told KABC.

According to her, the man was found dead inside the flat after the woman’s father contacted 911.

“He was deceased, he was facedown on the floor,” she replied. “And there was a lot of blood.”
