Beloved dealership abruptly changes hours after 13 years in business but leaves promising note for customers
Following a fire that destroyed the store, a beloved auto dealership wrote a supportive social media post to its patrons and the neighborhood.
After the fire, the dealership confirmed that every employee was safe.
On January 24, local officials reacted to the Knowlton Motors fire in Freeport, Illinois, which is approximately 115 miles northwest of Chicago.
According to local television station WIFR, Knowlton Motors has been a mainstay in the Freeport community for more than 13 years.
The roof at Knowlton Motors is “compromised” and will likely need to be replaced, Fire Department Chief Scott Miller said WIFR.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Following the fire, Knowlton Motors sent a touching message to its Facebook followers.
It was a “sad day” for the store, according to the initial post.
However, a second post sent customers a bold message.
As you can see, our shop building experienced a tragic accident. We want everyone to know that we will overcome this and rebuild,” the post said.
“We are proud of the services we offer to the community. Until we get further information about the how, when, where, and why, we will only be open for restricted business moving forward.
The Knowlton family expressed gratitude to its patrons and community for their cooperation and patience throughout this trying period.
Additionally, they told patrons that they will promptly rebuild and reopen.
At the moment, the store is only able to operate to a certain extent.
Rod Knowlton, an Illinois native, is the company’s owner, according to the Better Business Bureau.
The automaker takes great satisfaction in ensuring that its clients depart with a “good, reliable vehicle” that suits their requirements and price range.
The Yelp rating for Knowlton Motors is three stars.
For keeping them and their family on the road, one reviewer expressed gratitude to Knowlton Motors.

“Knowlton Motors is a great place where I brought a Buick from and it’s been running ever since I brought it from them,” they wrote.
“I have a little bit of hard times and they were willing to help me through them hard times that my family was going through their very understanding they’re willing to work with you and help and make sure that your car stays running.”
