Boosting Healthcare! Allen County to Receive $8.9 Million From HFI Funding
ALLEN COUNTY, Ind.- Allen County will be receiving millions of dollars from the state of Indiana to help with healthcare bills. Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb stated that all 92 of the state’s counties have opted into Health First Indiana (HFI) financing for 2025.
Gov. Holcomb says $150 million will go into HFI funding in January 2025, with Allen County opting in for $8,960,782.50.
“This historic investment promises to help improve the health of Hoosiers,” Holcomb stated. “I’m appreciative to all of the local politicians, health departments, and legislative leaders who are supporting HFI and adopting new health measures that will eventually be available to all Hoosiers. It required guts and collaboration to greatly boost our commitment to assisting individuals who seek the means to help themselves, and I’ll be forever grateful.”

Each County requests funds from the HFI program to address local health issues. The State identifies childhood lead poisoning, heart disease, tobacco cessation, obesity, and maternal and infant mortality as some of the health service issues that most citizens in Indiana counties face.
“Local health departments across the state are working to create new partnerships and programs to enhance their public health services,” State Health Commissioner Lindsay Weaver, M.D., FACEP, stated. “I continue to be impressed by the level of engagement from Hoosier communities, including businesses and hospitals that have pledged their support.”
