Breaking News: Two Suspects in Custody For Alleged Murder of 79-Year-Old Victim
(DEBARYLIFE) — BALTIMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. Authorities in Barry County have charged two people with murder concerning the death of a 79-year-old southwest of Nashville Village.
Around noon on Wednesday, according to the Barry County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were sent to rural Baltimore Township’s Cloverdale Road, west of North Avenue, in response to a complaint of an unconscious male lying in a driveway. Jimmy Sykes, 79, was found deceased when they arrived.
The Battle Creek resident Sykes’s cause of death was not disclosed by the sheriff’s office, which classified the case as a homicide.

The sheriff’s office announced on Friday that two persons had been placed under arrest.
Although their identities were withheld until their arraignment, the prosecutor’s office stated that both were fourth-time habitual offenders accused of open murder.
Regarding the circumstances surrounding the death and the possible way in which the suspects knew Sykes, deputies withheld no information.
