BREAKING! Police Arrest Alleged Perpetrator Connected to Spate of North Texas Robberies
GRAPEVINE – The man who is suspected to be responsible for robberies in at least five places in North Texas has been taken into custody by the police.
Accusations of aggravated robbery and unauthorized possession of a firearm by a felon have been brought against Charles Brownlee, who is 36 years old, according to the Grapevine police department. “Just this month,” the police noted in a press release, all five of the robberies that have been linked to Brownlee had taken place.
In the days leading up to Brownlee’s arrest on Tuesday, law enforcement authorities were sent to the Cash Store located in the 1500 block of West State Highway 114 in Grapevine, where a robbery had taken place. According to the police, a man who was dressed in a white shirt, a white cap, jeans, and a medical mask had grabbed “all of the cash, forced the clerk (who was not injured) into the bathroom, then ran out of the store and drove away.”
The report stated that officers soon discovered that the suspect’s description and the events that had transpired were consistent with another robbery that had occurred in Hurst less than an hour prior to the robbery that took place in Grapevine. Using surveillance footage, officers from the Mid-Cities Drug Task Force were able to identify the vehicle that belonged to the suspect and “tracked it” to a place in Arlington.
On Tuesday evening, at 7:30 p.m., Brownlee was taken into prison. It was reported by the police that he was stopped when he was traveling in Grand Prairie.
With the assistance of officers from the Hurst, Euless, Fort Worth, and Arlington police departments, the arrest was completed.
Brownlee was transported from the Grapevine Detention Center to Tarrant County on Thursday to appear in court for his arraignment.
