Brit boy, 12, dies after being thrown from car in horror rollover crash on motorway in Belgium
Tragically, a 12-year-old kid from Britain died after being flung from a car in a terrifying rollover accident on a Belgian freeway.
Around one in the morning on Wednesday, the fatal collision happened as the automobile with the British license plate was heading toward the French border.
It is believed that the youngster was killed on the way back to England from Belgium with his parents.
Belgian media said that the family was returning from a wedding in Antwerp when the fatal crash occurred in Veurne (West Flanders).
In the terrifying collision, the BMWX5 crashed into the top of a margin between the main road and an exit ramp.
The E40 highway tragedy was witnessed by no one, and the car’s automated emergency warning system was the only thing that alerted police to the collision.
Using what has been called a “unadjusted speed,” the local prosecutor’s office said authorities are looking into whether the rollover accident was caused by bad weather.
Police said in a statement: “The automobile had six people in all.
“One of them, a 12-year-old boy with British nationality, was thrown out of the vehicle and died of his injuries.”
The youngster was one of four in the automobile, and emergency personnel were able to revive him on the spot.
After that, he was taken to a local hospital, where he sadly passed away.
The family suffered minor injuries to four members.
A fifth was reportedly not in a life-threatening situation despite having more severe injuries.
Every family member was taken to the hospital for medical care.
The family involved in the horrific crash has not yet been identified by local authorities.
The prosecutor’s office stated: “The first findings show that the poor weather conditions and aquaplaning on the road, in combination with an unadjusted speed, may be the causes of the accident.”The crash did not involve any other automobiles.
“The investigation is continuing.”
A police car responding to the original accident on the hard shoulder of the E40 was scratched by a tour bus with British license plates shortly after the crash.
According to reports, there were no injuries and the damage was minimal.
