Brit lad, 20, found dead half-naked down bottom of hotel lift shaft on Turkey holiday was MURDERED, says family
According to his grandparents, a British national who was discovered dead at the bottom of a hotel elevator shaft while on vacation in Turkey was killed.
Tyler Kerry was discovered at the five-star Trendy Lara Hotel in Antalya on Friday morning wearing only boxers and socks, and his family says Turkish police are investigating his death as suspicious.
Collette and Ray Kerry are “absolutely disgusted” by the circumstances and think that their grandchild was murdered by an unidentified individual.
Grandma Collette, 56, spoke to The Sun while crying and stated, “We are broken, we are all broken.”
After the terrible death, what was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime vacation had instead become a nightmare.
“I am so frustrated and angry that I am not making any progress in figuring out why he died,” Collette added.

“I swear to you that I won’t give up until I have the answers… I want justice for my kid, and I will find answers for him.”
At first, they believed Tyler might have entered the cavity through the elevator doors and fallen to his death.
Collette stated: “We initially thought, how’s he pushed the doors open and the lift is not there and he has fallen.”
However, according to the grandparents, CCTV evidence showed the doors opening and Tyler entering the elevator carriage while only sporting his North Face joggers and pressing a button as usual.
They think their grandson was murdered because of that and a few other “beyond bizarre” things.
Collette and Ray, 61, said Tyler’s near-naked state is inexplicable.
Tyler’s cellphone, pants, shoes, and vaporizer were also discovered on the hotel’s first floor, close to the elevator shaft.
“It [the vape] was covered in blood, which indicates to me foul play prior to my grandson being thrown—or whatever had transpired with that lift shaft,” she stated.
“I am certain that my grandson was murdered because he was discovered on the ground floor and his vaporizer was discovered on level one.
“Why wouldn’t he have his vape at the bottom of the lift shaft if he had fallen?
“Why would that vape have blood on it?”
According to them, forensic officers also collected evidence from a face smear and hand prints found on an interior glass on level one, close to the lift shaft.
According to Collette, Tyler was also discovered with two black eyes, which the lift cavity’s “flat surface” precludes him from having sustained from a fall.
Collette has demanded that a post-mortem be performed here, thus Tyler’s body has now been returned to the UK.
In addition, his friends and family are using GoFundMe to raise money for his funeral and anticipated legal costs.
Last moments
The last time Ray and Collette saw Tyler was at around 10 p.m. on Thursday night, right before he passed away. At that time, they had gone to bed and left Tyler with a few of his brothers to watch the hotel entertainment.
Tyler, his brother, cousin, and girlfriend had gone to a nightclub in the hotel lobby, where they had been drinking.
Mason Read, Tyler’s brother, then left Tyler laying on a sofa in the lobby at around four in the morning so he could go grab a drink.
However, Collette stated that Mason discovered only Tyler’s jacket and a tissue on the floor when he returned.
Tyler was not in their room when Mason, 18, and the others went up to check for him.
CCTV showed Tyler being “a little bit wobbly” after getting from of the couch, according to Collette, and when he entered the elevator, “turn to the right and press the button.”
In search of Tyler, the group chatted with two hotel employees, who directed them to the ground level elevator shaft.
Collette stated: “They eventually located Tyler near the bottom of the lift shaft. Since the lift is entirely made of glass, Tyler’s corpse was visible from the bottom.
“No trousers on, no top on, no jacket, no possessions on him whatsoever.”
Family slam hotel
The grandmother said they were “absolutely disgusted” by the hotel’s answer.
They claim that the hotel has not cooperated with the investigation and has refused to give them CCTV footage of the events leading up to Tyler’s death.
Collette stated: “They’ve got quite a few CCTV cameras in the hotel but for some reason they have got no footage of any of his movements.”
Additionally, Ray accused the general manager of informing the vacationers it was a “suicide” while escorting other visitors on a sightseeing excursion to the location of the pants and vaporizer.
Additionally, they claim that Tyler would not have committed suicide.
Collette responded: “No way Tyler was suicidal, he was having such a good time.”
According to Ray, the hotel was eager to get rid of them.
“All they wanted to know after that [the death] was ‘when are you going home?'” he stated.
“We’ve been made to feel so uncomfortable.”
“We would like to share our heartfelt condolences to the family of Tyler Kerry who tragically passed away while on vacation at Trendy Lara Hotel,” a Trendy Lara representative told The Sun.
“We did not stop helping Tyler’s family throughout this really trying time.
“As this is a police investigation we are unable to comment further.”
Police failure
The jeans and vaporizer were promptly returned to the family, but Collette was incensed because she thought they might be important pieces of evidence that required forensic examination.
The interview lasted “about five minutes” and just four of the nine members of the Kerry family group accompanied the trip.
Collette claimed that the police investigation was not comprehensive and that they frequently had to overcome a language barrier in order to comprehend what was happening.
She stated: “They didn’t let us use Google translate and we were not willing to allow Turkish members of the staff at the hotel to be the translator.”
The death was deemed “suspicious” by the Turkish police on Monday.
The grandparents, however, believe that Turkish police officers hurried them and failed to provide them with accurate translations of what they were saying.
Ray stated: “We believe the Turkish police did not conduct an inquiry.

“I don’t feel like there was an investigation, I really don’t.”
When The Sun asked Antalya police for comment, they told them to contact the President of Turkey’s publicity office.
